How to get your Shopify sales report on WhatsApp

Most Shopify merchants check their numbers the same way: open the admin, wait for the dashboard, read one figure, close it. Repeat three or four times a day. It takes thirty seconds each time, which sounds like nothing until you multiply it by a year.

The alternative is to stop going to the data and let it come to you. A daily sales report delivered to WhatsApp arrives in the app you already have open, next to the messages from your suppliers and your customers.

What belongs in a daily report

A report you actually read is short. Five to eight numbers, not twenty. In practice the useful ones are:

The comparison matters more than the raw figure. €1,200 in a day means nothing on its own; €1,200 against €900 yesterday is information you can act on.

Why WhatsApp rather than email

Email is where reports go to be ignored. A daily automated email lands in a promotions tab, gets marked as read in bulk, and after two weeks nobody opens it. WhatsApp has the opposite problem — it is hard to ignore. That is exactly what you want for one message a day, and exactly why you should not send five.

It also travels. You can read your revenue on a phone with no admin access, in a queue at the post office, without logging in to anything.

Setting it up on Shopify

WhatsReport connects to your store through the official Shopify Admin API. You pick the phone numbers, the frequency (daily, weekly or monthly), the send time, and which fields the message contains. The data never passes through a third-party analytics service — the app reads your store and sends the message.

There is a free plan that runs for three months with one message per day, which is enough to see whether a daily report changes anything for you before paying for it.

A note on reliability

WhatsApp only delivers free-form messages within 24 hours of the recipient writing to you. Anything scheduled has to go through a pre-approved message template, which is what WhatsReport uses. It is the difference between a report that arrives every morning and one that silently stops after the first day.
